Below you have information regarding both accommodation and travelling options.

Accommodation

The conference will be hosted at Hyatt Regency Vilamoura Algarve (also called Hotel Dom Pedro). In this section we show options to use this same venue as an accomodation option, and an alternative recommendation.

Head to Garvetur’s webpage, www.garveturholidays.com, and choose a property in Vilamoura.
Select dates (June 23 to June 26).

If everything went fine, a new and discounted price should appear on screen after applying the code, next to the apartment options.

Travel Options

There are multiple ways to reach Vilamoura from Faro Airport and other locations. In this section we present you with some alternatives and discounts on transportation.

Getting to Vilamoura from the Airport

In Portugal, there are two main airport options to get to Vilamoura: the Lisbon airport (LIS), and Faro airport (FAO).

From Lisbon Airport

After arriving at Lisbon Airport, follow the signs for the Metro / Subway. The airport is served by the Red Line, and the destination station is Oriente.

Ticket vending machines are available at the Metro station and can be used in several languages. If passengers are traveling directly to Oriente, they only need a single Carris/Metro ticket. The 2026 Carris/Metro single ticket fare is €1.90. Passengers who do not already have a navegante occasional card will also need to purchase the reusable card, which costs €0.50. Alternatively, contactless bank card payment may be available at the Metro gates.

At Gare do Oriente, passengers have two main public transportation options to continue to the Algarve: bus or train.

Bus from Lisbon Oriente to Quarteira or Vilamoura

Two main long-distance bus companies operate from Lisbon to the Algarve: Rede Expressos and FlixBus.

Using Rede Expressos, passengers should search for tickets from Lisbon Oriente to Quarteira. The trip usually takes approximately 3h10 to 3h55, depending on the specific service.

Using FlixBus, passengers have two possible destination options:

Lisbon to Vilamoura — usually the most convenient option, but with fewer daily departures. The trip can take about 2h55.
Lisbon to Quarteira — usually offers more schedules. The trip takes around 3h00 to 3h10, depending on the specific service.

From the bus stop in Vilamoura or Quarteira, participants can take a taxi, Uber, Bolt, or a local bus to their hotel or to the conference venue.

For local transport between Quarteira and Vilamoura, participants can use the municipal APANHA-ME bus network. The Green Line connects Quarteira and Vilamoura, including the Marina Vilamoura / Casino area. In the APANHA-ME network, stop 17 is listed as Marina Vilamoura / Casino.

Train from Lisbon Oriente to Loulé

Passengers may also travel by train from Lisbon Oriente to Loulé.

The Portuguese national railway company, CP — Comboios de Portugal, operates two main long-distance train services to the Algarve:

Alfa Pendular — AP: faster service; typical Lisbon Oriente–Loulé journey time is about 2h50.
Intercidades — IC: standard long-distance service; typical journey time is about 3h18 to 3h22.

The CP timetable in force from December 14, 2025 lists direct Lisbon Oriente–Loulé services, including AP and IC services.

After arriving at Loulé-Quarteira railway station, the easiest way to reach Vilamoura is by taxi, Uber, or Bolt. A lower-cost public transport alternative is also available:

Take the APANHA-ME Red Line from Loulé-Quarteira railway station to Quarteira Bus Terminal.

From Quarteira Bus Terminal, take the APANHA-ME Green Line toward Vilamoura. The APANHA-ME Red Line is described as the shuttle connection between Quarteira Bus Terminal and Loulé-Quarteira railway station.

From Faro Airport

Recommended public transport option — direct bus to Quarteira/Vilamoura.

The simplest public transport option from Faro Airport is usually the direct VAMUS route 55, which connects Faro Airport with Quarteira and Vilamoura. The trip takes approximately 45 to 50 minutes, depending on traffic and the specific stop. Participants should check the latest timetable on the VAMUS Algarve website before traveling and confirm the most convenient stop for their hotel or for the conference venue.

After arriving in Quarteira or Vilamoura, participants can continue to their hotel or to the conference venue by taxi, Uber, Bolt, or local APANHA-ME bus.

As an alternative, you may also take a bus at Faro Bus Terminal.

From Faro Airport, there are public transport links to Faro city center. The airport’s public transport page lists bus connections between the airport and Faro city center, including local services and regional operators.

At Faro Bus Terminal, passengers can take VAMUS route 9 toward Albufeira and get off in Vilamoura, for example at Vilamoura — Casino / Praia da Marina. The bus ride from Faro Bus Terminal to Vilamoura takes approximately 47 to 50 minutes.

Taxi, Uber, Bolt, Private Transfer, or Rent-a-Car

For participants carrying luggage, arriving late, or preferring a direct trip, the easiest option may be to use a taxi, Uber, Bolt, a pre-booked private transfer, or a rental car.

From Lisbon Airport to Vilamoura

Participants arriving at Lisbon Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS) may also travel directly to Vilamoura by car, rental car, or private transfer.

The drive from Lisbon Airport to Vilamoura is approximately 258–260 km and usually takes around 2h40, depending on traffic and the exact destination in Vilamoura. The route is mostly by highway, typically using the A2 highway toward the Algarve and then the A22 highway toward Vilamoura.

Please note that this route includes toll roads. Participants renting a car should check with the rental company whether the vehicle includes an electronic toll payment device.

From Faro Airport to Vilamoura

Participants arriving at Faro Gago Coutinho Airport (FAO) have a much shorter road connection to Vilamoura.

The drive from Faro Airport to Vilamoura is approximately 24–27 km and usually takes around 25 to 30 minutes, depending on traffic and the exact destination in Vilamoura.

Rental Car Discount

One way to travel from Faro Airport to Vilamoura is to rent a car.
